Vitamin K2

The human body can only produce small amounts of vitamin K2 itself by producing it from microorganisms in the intestine and transporting it into the blood. Vitamin K2 is ingested through food, primarily from animal and bacterially fermented foods. Vitamin K plays a role in numerous bodily functions. It has long been known that vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting. Another role of vitamin K is bone health. Like vitamin D, vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
